Mahesh Foundation to celebrate World Aids Day

To commemorate World Aids Day on Sunday, Mahesh Foundation, a non-governmental organization working for the welfare of children and youth affected by HIV/AIDS in society will be celebrating World Aids Day.

BELGAUM: To commemorate World Aids Day on Sunday, Mahesh Foundation, a non-governmental organization working for the welfare of children and youth affected by HIV/AIDS in society will be celebrating World Aids Day by way of creating awareness program at colleges, industries and social clubs. A rally will also be held at Big Bazaar on Sunday at 12pm.

"Every year December 1 is celebrated as World Aids Day, this year it happens to be the 25th year, we are not suppose to celebrate it, in Belgaum district we have more than 24,000 people infected with HIV/AIDS; among 24,000 people nearly 2400 are children. People affected by HIV are abandoned by society, if this is the condition of parents then we cannot imagine the condition of their children and the children who are orphans doesn't even has a house to stay, they are abandoned by society and their own family members. As 25th World Aids Day, we have an intention to address 5000 people, give them knowledge about HIV/AIDS, and create awareness," added Mahesh, founder of Mahesh Foundation.
Mahesh Foundation, a non-governmental organization working for the welfare of children and youth affected by HIV/AIDS in society by ensuring them education and encouraging them to fight against HIV/AIDS. Mahesh foundation took initiative and started adopting these kinds of children, provided their basic needs and gave them a hope of better life. Without government support, Mahesh Foundation is looking after of 55 children who are in the 4-17 age group. Apart from they also look into the welfare of 350 orphan children. Every month they are spending nearly Rs 1.5 lakh to provide them food, health, shelter and take care of their other needs.
